Is Delorean Alpha 5 doomed to fail?

I'm starting to wonder if the Delorean Alpha 5 is ever going to actually, you know, EXIST. The hype around it seems strangely quiet, and let's face it, the design is...polarizing. Plus, they've already scaled back production plans, which isn't exactly a confidence booster. I'm not trying to be a Delorean hater, but does anyone else get the feeling this could be another EV startup that bites the dust and is the Alpha 5 headed for the automotive graveyard?

I get what you’re saying, the delays and scaled-back plans don’t inspire confidence. Do you think they’ll actually deliver, or is this just another EV dream fading away?
