The DeLorean Alpha5 is bringing back the iconic gullwing doors, but does it actually capture the spirit of the original, or is it just a rebadged EV with nostalgia slapped on? Some think the black canopy design looks off, and others say it resembles a Toyota more than a futuristic time machine.
While the Alpha5 aims to modernize the DeLorean name, it’s hard to ignore that it lacks the sharp, boxy aesthetic that made the original so legendary. Instead of a stainless steel time capsule, we get a sleek, curvy grand tourer that doesn’t quite scream "Back to the Future."
Whether or not the Alpha5 will live up to its hype, it’s clear that it has a lot to prove before it can stand alongside the classic DMC-12.
